Mets shut out Astros in spring training

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL The Astros were held to just three hits on Sunday, while Mets shortstop Jose Reyes proved to be the catalyst on offense. He went 1-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run in the leadoff spot.

Astros starter Jack Cassel, who took the loss, allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits, struck out three and did not issue a walk in three innings. Runlevys Hernandez gave up the Mets' other run in his three innings pitched. He did not give up a hit and had one strikeout but walked three batters.

Mets starter John Maine struck out three, walked one and allowed no hits in four innings.
