UH softball notches two wins in Fresno

FRESNO, CA Houston (18-2) earned their first wins against Texas in the all-time series to move to 2-12 against the Longhorns.

In the second game against Rhode Island, UH got on the board early with three runs in the second inning. The Rams responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning. That would be all that URI could muster the rest of the game.

In the Coogs' first game against Santa Clara, they tallied 11 hits in while shutting out Santa Clara 4-0. UH got their ninth shutout win this season. Houston pitcher Barbie Love (5-1) went the distance, allowing three hits, no runs and had seven strikeouts.
