With 77% of precincts reporting, Emmett took 56% of the vote. His opponent, Charles Bacarisse, came in with 44%.
Emmett says Bacarisse called and congratulated him saying he would be 100% behind the county judge.
In November, Emmett will most likely face Democratic opponent David Mincberg.
