A&M late-inning burst sinks Ohio State

COLLEGE STATION, TX Kyle Thebeau (1-1) got the win, pitching six scoreless innings. He surrendered five hits, struck out five and walked one. Travis Starling earned his second save for Texas A&M (5-2).

The Buckeyes opened up a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a run-scoring double by Ryan Dew, a single by Cory Rupert and an error.

Ohio State (3-1) was leading 5-1 in the fifth when Texas A&M's Dane Carter tripled home one run and Stouffer brought home another run on a flyout to make the score 5-3. The Aggies scored twice more in the sixth to tie the game.

Texas A&M broke open the game in the bottom of the eighth by scoring three runs. Carter crossed the plate on a fielding error, and Brian Ruggiano and Anders each collected RBIs.

Reliever Rory Meister (0-1) took the loss for Ohio State. He gave up three runs -- one earned -- on two hits in just 1 2/3 innings of work.
