Big rig wreck shuts down freeway

HOUSTON Eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 are closed between Freeport and Uvalde. The driver of a flatbed 18-wheeler lost control in the westbound lanes and ended up stuck on the concrete divider, leaking fuel on the the freeway.

Crews have been brought in to contain the spill and remove the disabled big rig.

Traffic on the eastbound lanes is being diverted at Uvale, and westbound lanes are diverted onto Beltway 8. Travel time eastbound from downtown on I-10 is estimated at about an hour.
