METRO bus involved in downtown wreck

HOUSTON The accident happened shortly before 3pm onTexas at Chartres. A man in a Cadillac SUV reportedly ran a red light, causing the METRO bus to collide with his vehicle. He then smashed into a light pole.

Emergency crews used the Jaws of Life to remove the driver. The SUV driver and six passengers from the bus were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to METRO officials, the SUV driver will likely be cited for running the red light.
