Weekend crackdown nets several arrests

HOUSTON The zero tolerance task force got to work last night in north Harris County. Officers made seven DWI arrests and more than a dozen others for outstanding warrants and narcotics possession. There were no problems during most arrests, but at least one person was not very cooperative.

"We had a deputy that stopped an individual that had open warrants," said Lt Brian Magee with the Precinct 4 Constable's Office. "He bolted and ran. K9 come out and a few minutes later he was in custody, also."

About 50 officers are taking part in the crackdown, which focuses on the area along FM 1960 from Tomball Parkway to the North Freeway.
