PETA has beef with Aretha Franklin

NEW YORK The animal rights group is down on her for wearing fur. And the group is mincing no words when it comes to dissing the soul queen for wearing a pelt to the Grammys. PETA's description of the fur: "vulgar." And though they used the term "queen" to describe Franklin, PETA pulled no punches when it came to denouncing her.

Here's a sample of what they had to say about her in a press release: "...you looked as if you were going to perform `I Am the Walrus' by the Beatles." "You might be a queen, but you don't know jack about compassion."

"How 'bout some R-E-S-P-E-C-T for animals?" And to show it wasn't just about Aretha, PETA also ripped on Marilyn Manson, Eva Longoria, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue for wearing animal skin or coats.
