Meanwhile, the child's 29-year-old mother, Genny Granados, remains jailed on a charge of injury to a child. No word yet on whether the charge against her will be upgraded. Bond is set at $50,000.
The child has been on life support since a custodian discovered the child Saturday night at Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital. The child had no pulse but was revived by doctors.
Granados is a legal U.S. resident from El Salvador who's lived with the father of her 2-year-old son for the past five years. The man, Alfredo Navarro, said he didn't know Granados was pregnant and doesn't think he is the father of the newborn.
