"All of a sudden, boom. I heard thunder and lightning and it lifted my whole house and moved my couch against the wall against,' said homeowner Ken Clougher.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
All that rain from last night uprooted a tree in northwest Houston. It landed in the middle of the road along 43rd street near Overhill.
Crews are still trying to remove that tree right now.
There were no reports of serious damage or flooding in other parts of the Houston area. But the storm did knock out power. Some nine thousand customers were without electricity at the peak of the bad weather. CenterPoint Energy worked through the night to restore power.
