His sister, Julia Rose, said Stenberg had been on a promotional trip that included stops in Phoenix and Houston in an effort to try to get radio stations to play his music.
The manager of the St. Francis Motel in Houston says Stenberg had arrived at the motel in a cab with another man who helped him unload his luggage last weekend.
No arrests have been made. But Houston police are looking for a man about 5-foot-7, 165 pounds who was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
