Couple's decomposing bodies found in home

HOUSTON The manager of the eight apartment building on Common at Pinckney went by the home because the couple was late on rent. He smelled a foul odor.

Firefighters were called in. They broke in a door and found the two decomposing bodies -- that of an 82-year-old man on a bed and a 57-year-old woman close by. Investigators think the couple had been dead at least two weeks.

Michael Miller with HPD's Homicide Division said, "It's possible the male had a previous medical condition that contributed to his death. It's also possible that she perhaps committed suicide."

Police are continuing their investigation.
