Ex-boyfriend charged in teen's death

BROWNSVILLE, TX The suspect's name is being withheld because of his age. He was being held at Darrell B. Hester Juvenile Justice Center in San Benito.

He was charged in the death of Pace High School student Brenda Lee Nunez, 17. Brownsville Police Chief Carlos Garcia said Monday that the suspect was obsessed with Nunez.

Nunez' mother found her dead shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday after returning home from running errands.

Investigators think Nunez' her ex-boyfriend went to the home between 9:30 and 11 a.m. She had returned home at 7 a.m. Saturday from a church retreat.
