Civil rights trial against DA's office begins

HOUSTON The lawsuit stems from the execution of a search warrant at a home in east Houston back in 2002. Two brothers say they were wrongly arrested and their civil rights were violated.

They accused the district attorney's office of failing to investigate their claims. That led to the release of hundreds of emails from Rosenthal's county computer, some of which were sexually and racially insensitive.

Rosenthal faces a contempt of court hearing later this month for deleting some emails, despite a judge's order to turn them all over.
