He had a backpack with wires running to some sort of device. Officers secured the area and brought in bomb sniffing dogs.
Perez is being charged with possession of a hoax bomb, which is a Class A misdemeanor.

HOUSTON (KTRK) According to Lt. Rulen with the Precinct 1 Constable's office, Boris Perez had a scheduled court appearance at the criminal courthouse this morning on a burglary charge. Perez apparently tried to go through security with a device rigged to look like a bomb.
