Residents fight high rise project

HOUSTON (KTRK) The people who met at Poe Elementary School want two developers to scrap their high rise project near the museum district. The city is looking at an ordinance that would restrict high density development, and that could torpedo this high rise project.

"So if we're hopeful that if this ordinance gets passed and has the effect that we hope it does, that they may be willing to come back and talk to us realistically," said Chris Amandes who opposes the high rise.

The Ashby High Rise project developers agreed to halt the project for 90 days until those involved can provide input on the proposed ordinance.
