Man shot during attempted carjacking

HOUSTON (KTRK) Officers say a man and woman had just pulled into the Royal Phoenician apartments on Northchase near Greens, when they were approached by a gunman.

The man demanded money and the car. The victims refused and the robber began firing shots at the vehicle, breaking the window. The gunman grabbed the woman's purse and the passenger's wallet and then fired more shots before making a getaway.

The passenger was hit, and died at a hospital. The female driver was not injured.
