TSU pushes past Prairie View

HOUSTON The Tigers (4-12, 3-0 Southwestern Athletic) won their third straight after starting the season 1-12. Sollie Norwood scored 14 points, and Matthew Miller added 12, including four free throws in the final 17 seconds.

Derek Johnson led Prairie View (2-13, 0-3) with 15 points, including a 3-pointer that pulled the Panthers within 64-63 with 26 seconds left before the Tigers clinched the game at the free-throw line.

Brian Ezeh had 14 points for the Panthers, and Jacolby Satterwhite had 12 points and team highs of five steals and three assists.

Texas Southern led 58-49 after a 3-pointer by Miller with 3:54 left, but Prairie View went on a 9-2 run to get within 62-60 at the 1:18 mark. On their next possession, the Panthers missed a layup that would have tied it and a 3-pointer that would have put them ahead.
