Ethiopia's Kasime Adilo was second in 2:12:45.
In the women's event, 22-year-old Dire Tune of Ethiopia set a record with an official time of 2:24:40. Tune broke her own mark of 2:26:52, which she set last year.
Tune also became the first repeat female winner since 2000 and the third woman overall to win the race twice.
Worknesh Tola of Ethiopia finished second in 2:35:37.
More than 20,000 runner took part in Sunday's races, a record for 36th running, according to organizers.
