Fire District Chief Tommy Dowdy said, "The ambulance got here, picked the victim up and took him to Hermann Hospital. He had some pretty heavy second degree burns and possibly some respiratory problems."
There's no word on the man's condition. Witnesses tell firefighters that the man was in the back of the house before the fire started.
We're told several people were inside the home, but they managed to escape. There's no word on a cause.
