Abandoned baby could get new home

HOUSTON (KTRK) We still don't know the mother and father of the baby who's become known as Matthew John Scrvins, but the legal process for placing the child in a home continues today.

We first introduced you to the baby days after his birth in hopes that someone would come forward with information about his parents. He was named Matthew Scrivens after the man who discovered him at the Westalke Fire Station in west Harris County. That man is named Victor Scrivens.

At the very least, the court will take a look today at the baby's current situation in foster care as well as the baby's health and then determine what steps need to be taken to get the child with a permanent family.
