Lowly Bobcats bite Celtics

BOSTON The Celtics entered the game with a nine-game winning streak and a league-leading 29-3 record before the Bobcats won for only the second time in 13 road games.

Jason Richardson led the upset with 34 points and nine rebounds, while Gerald Wallace had 15 points and 10 boards. Raymond Felton chipped in 16 points and eight assists for the Bobcats, who lost their previous meeting with the Celtics on Ray Allen's buzzer-beating 3-pointer.

The Celts never got closer than seven points in the final five minutes en route to just their second loss in 18 home games.

Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 24 points and eight rebounds. Paul Pierce added 13 points but shot just 4-for-14.
