Manage to get active

Whatever your situation, here's some tips on how to manage your time to include a regular workout:

1. Schedule time for exercise as you would a meeting. Enter it in your daily planner and honor the commitment as you would any other.

2. Wake up earlier. It's amazing how much you can do in the morning if you get up a half or full hour earlier. You'll get your exercise done early, and feel alive and productive all day.

3. Find an exercise partner. Arrange to meet a friend at the Y and it will become easier to stick with your program when you feel accountable to your friend.

4. Multi-task while exercising. Watch the news or TV or catch up on some light reading. This not only saves time, but can help keep you entertained while you workout.

5. Try a variety of activities. Fight off boredom by trying different classes and pieces of exercise equipment, and rotating among the ones you enjoy.
