Officer on motorcycle injured in accident

HOUSTON (KTRK) It appears he was escorting an 18-wheeler carrying an oversized load, when the wreck occurred. We don't know how badly the officer was injured, but we're told he does not have life-threatening injuries.

Nonetheless, he was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

The accident caused a massive tie-up on the East Freeway. Traffic finally cleared up just before 8:30am.
