Teens lead police on chase in stolen car

HOUSTON Police say four teenagers crashed a stolen car into a wall outside a house on Veterans Memorial near Frick. Moments before, they led a deputy on a high-speed chase after the deputy spotted them speeding. After the car crashed, the four youngsters ran off. That's when one of them called his mom.

She picked up the boy and one of his friends, but not before officers spotted her minivan lingering in the area.

"She was stopped and two of the suspects were in the back seat floor board area," said Sgt. RJ Scholwinski with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The mother will not be charged, but her son and his alleged accomplice are in custody. The other two suspected car thieves are still on the loose.
