Tim Heller's weather forecast

HOUSTON, Texas - Monday afternoon-
More scattered downpours. Heavier scattered showers and storms will pick up within the next 12 hours. Today's rain could be even considerably heavier than yesterday's, as the disturbance nears.

As the tropical wave in the Gulf comes ashore Monday, even more moisture will be present so there'll be more storms. Some of them could have rainfall rates between 2" and 4" and that would be enough to produce street flooding. The most likely areas for that to occur is along and south of the I-10 corridor.

It now appears that the heavy rain and street flooding threat will last into Wednesday and Thursday. We should begin to dry out as we head into the weekend.
