SUGAR LAND, Texas - Get ready for a major closure of the Grand Parkway in Fort Bend County.
The northbound side of the Jodie Stavinoha Bridge will be blocked off for nearly a month.
Crews need to stabilize the northern bank of the Brazos River and try to prevent damage to the Grand Parkway bridge after all of the flooding from Harvey.
The closure will extend from Riverpark Drive and New Territory Boulevard, from Saturday, Oct. 28 until Nov. 21.
Then, over Thanksgiving, from Nov. 21 until Nov. 27, only one lane will be open in each direction, northbound and southbound.
On Nov 27, the southbound lanes are scheduled to shut down until Dec. 22.
As an alternate route, you can use U.S. 59 and Highway 90-A to access Highway 6.
