HOUSTON, Texas - With more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, 165 flat screen TVs and barbecue from one of the best pitmasters in town, Houston's new Smoke'n Honey House is a sports lover's dream destination.
"We wanted to put together something the city of Houston has never seen before," said manager Jay Lippincott.
Chef Gilbert Arismendez, whose credentials include a longtime association with the award-winning Holy Cow Cookers BBQ team, heads up the kitchen with more than 30 years of barbecue experience. Menu items include comfort foods like fajitas, burgers and mac and cheese along with slow-cooked barbecue brisket, ribs and chicken.
Located at 8801 North Loop East, Smoke'n Honey House seats over 500 and has nearly 40 beers on tap and 60 bottled brews.
With a mechanical grizzly bear instead of the traditional bull, this mega-cool space is a barbecue joint, ice house and honky-tonk funhouse all under one roof.
"It's an adult playground, if you will." Lippincott said.
