New York town makes new law to punish the parents of bullies.

TONAWANDA, New York - A town in western New York has a new law that punishes parents for their kids' bullying.

Parents face a fine or even jail time.

City council members in North Tonawanda say the new law is geared toward minors who repeatedly bully other children in public places.

They hope it will put a stop to bullying by holding parents accountable for their children's actions.

The mayor of the town hopes the law will get certain parents to take better responsibility for their children.
