Baytown artist in race against time to finish Deputy Goforth painting

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- In Baytown, an artist is in a race against time to finish a special painting.

Ken Pridgeon says he'll do whatever it takes to finish his painting of fallen Deputy Darren Goforth in time for Friday's funeral.

Pridgeon usually paints fallen soldiers, but Goforth's death is a little different.

"He got killed right here in the United States filling up his car with gas," sid Pridgeon. "Hey, you know. Folks, I wear a uniform too."

He started painting Wednesday, and Pridgeon says he knows it will be done on time.
