Texans help student with cancer celebrate 8th birthday

Texans make day of boy battling cancer
Genesis Cuevas was honored at Jefferson Elementary School Friday afternoon

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Texans and Houston Community College helped throw a birthday party Friday for an elementary school student fighting cancer.

Genesis Cuevas was honored at Jefferson Elementary School. Officials from the Texans front office presented Genesis with gifts, including a signed football and note from David Quessenberry, a player who's also undergoing treatment for cancer.

Texans cheerleaders joined in the celebration and sang happy birthday to Genesis, who turned eight years old.
