Brittany Maynard, 29, made national headlines this past month after announcing she would be ending her own life instead of opting for treatment for her terminal brain cancer. But as of today, it seems that Maynard may have changed her mind.

Maynard's original plan was to end her life on November 1. But now the Death with Dignity advocate has stated that this isn't the right time in a new YouTube video released Wednesday.

"If Nov. 2 has come along and I've passed, I hope my family is still proud of me and the choices I've made. And if November 2 comes along and I'm still alive, I know that we'll just still be moving forward as a family out of love for each other, and that decision will come later," Maynard said in the video.

Maynard's announcement and decision to end her life attracted a lot of controversy, with many reaching out to her with their own stories about cancer and health struggles.

"I still feel good enough and I still have enough joy and I still laugh and smile with my family and friends enough that it doesn't seem like the right time right now," Maynard said.

Maynard currently resides in Portland, Oregon, where state law allows aid-in-dying. Maynard has also become a passionate spokesperson for the death with dignity movement throughout her struggle, advocating for people to have control over their own deaths. Recently Maynard realized one of her final dreams by traveling to the Grand Canyon.
