HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist allegedly fleeing from authorities was hit by a car and killed.

Harris County Precinct Four deputy constables say they tried to pull the biker over for a traffic violation on the Beltway 8 Feeder near Hardy in north Houston.

The biker kept going, so deputies chased him.

Deputies say he ran a stop sign and was hit by another vehicle, which sent him flying off the bike. He died moments later.

Deputy constables say the motorcyclist is a 34-year-old Hispanic man.

The crash is still under investigation. It's unclear at this time whether the driver will face charges for hitting biker.
