31 sheep killed by after lightning strike in scene Kentucky farmer calls 'gruesome'

A bolt of lightning took out a flock of sheep in Logan County, Kentucky.

WBKO-TV reports the flock died during a thunderstorm. Among the dead flock were 16 lambs.

Lightning also damaged a fence on the farmer's property. A few of the lambs actually survived the lightning bolt and are being monitored by the farmer, who described the initial scene as "gruesome."

The farmer has been raising sheep since 2015.
