Seminarian uses music to inspire youth
Seminarian uses music to inspire youth to live a life of devotion to God

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- When you think of a Catholic priest, you may not think of rapping, drum solos and crowd surfing. However, one local seminarian is changing that perception and he hopes that inspires young people to live a life of devotion to God.

David Michael Moses is a 23-year-old seminarian at St. Mary's in Houston.

He graduated from college at the age of 18 and applied to law school. As a teenager, says he prayed about his options and that's when he says he felt the calling to apply to seminary school to become a Catholic priest.

He's now in his fifth year as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. One of his passions is music.

When you think about church, you probably don't think of rapping, drum solos and crowd surfing, but one Houston seminarian wants to change that.

He has been writing music for 12 years and has put on a series of "Concerts for Life" that have collectively raised over $150,000 for organizations in Houston that help women in crisis pregnancies.

He has performed at the University of Houston, and the University of Dallas.
