Texas City ISD employee fired after child sex assault charges

LA MARQUE, TX (KTRK) -- A former Texas City ISD employee has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

La Marque police say 50-year-old Homero Martinez sexually assaulting a young relative.

Martinez worked in the maintenance department with Texas City ISD for over a year, but there is no evidence that he committed any crimes while on the job. His employment ended once he was charged.

He is being held on $50,000 bond.
