HCSO: Woman claiming self-defense after allegedly shooting boyfriend's ex

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A woman is expected to survive after she was shot overnight allegedly by the new girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend.

It happened at an apartment complex around 10:30pm off Aldine Westfield in northwest Harris County.

Deputies say the two women got into a fight, and the new girlfriend shot the other woman.

We're told she claims it was in self-defense.

She was arrested.

The woman who was shot was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital Woodlands. She's expected to live.
