Football game ends early because of fight
A brawl broke out at a local high school football game Friday night.

SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- A high school football game ended early Friday night because of a fight.

It happened in a game between Westfield and Spring, both unbeaten, in a rematch of last year's regional final. The fight between the teams broke out late in the game and officials decided to call it early. Westfield won 36-25.

There's no word on what sparked the fight. The school district says no students were hurt in the fight.

A Spring Independent School District spokesperson issued a statement today: "Spring ISD is investigating the incident that occurred at Friday night's football game between the Spring and Westfield teams. The behavior displayed on the field does not represent our expectations for good sportsmanship and conduct. We will be working with the (University Interscholastic League) to determine appropriate sanctions and recourse."
